GAVIN™ was honored to represent the Take Control HIV Community at Pride Festival of Central PA in Harrisburg. We collaborated to create engaging educational materials, a compelling theme, and appealing swag to empower individuals to know their HIV status. In partnership with UPMC and Color & Culture, we tested 83 people and connected over 175 individuals to the Take Control Community.
While our swag played a role, we must commend the team’s determination to reach everyone willing to listen.

The Take Control HIV Community is a vibrant network of advocates dedicated to encouraging all Pennsylvanians to understand their HIV status and seek treatment if they are living with HIV. Our primary objective is to reduce new HIV infections and enhance the quality of life for everyone by dismantling stigmas and barriers to care, including access to testing and treatment. Throughout Pennsylvania, our five regional communities are committed to educating and empowering individuals to take control of their HIV journey—regardless of their HIV status.
