This position offers a work-remote option, requiring that the Account Coordinator visit the office and client’s locations for key meetings and events as necessary. Our clients are regional and national companies requiring an understanding of local, regional, and national markets inclusive of omni-channel communications strategies leveraging branding, public relations, creative, digital advertising, web services and media buying.

The Senior Public Relations Coordinator is responsible for supporting the public relations team with successful oversight and completion of assigned tasks with the ability to think beyond the expected. The Senior Public Relations Coordinator must have exceptional writing skills and the ability to juggle multiple assignments without ever missing a deadline; someone who has an ambitious mindset to help us do amazing work and a passion for creating positive, controlled publicity for our clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee specific publicity campaigns or campaign elements under supervision and guidance from senior staff.
  • Monitor media coverage, market trends and published content/news for public relations clients at a local, regional, and national level, including trade publications.
  • Support senior staff in public relations efforts for various clients, including drafting blogs, press releases and byline opportunities; and compiling, maintaining, and organizing all public relations materials for campaigns and publicity events.
  • Develops strong drafts of content and copy for interactive social media, email marketing, press releases, media advisories and supportive integrated marketing campaign content.
  • Research to actively know and understand client’s business, goals, competitors, industry trends, market influencers and measurements of success to support team in creation of content, deliverables that meet client’s need.
  • Identify opportunities in various media for clients in industries including healthcare, education, nonprofits, consumer packaged goods and building supply.
  • Develop pitch calendars and brainstorm reactive pitch opportunities.
  • Contributes to the development of PR plans including measurable objectives,
  • Report to senior staff and support team on various projects, including marketing and communications projects, inclusive of performance outcomes, concerns or forecasted issues and opportunities.
  • Collaborate as needed with the creative team on various projects to support public relations campaigns.
  • Copywriting, editing and proofing with high attention to detail.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, with the ability to read media equivalency values, assess media exposure quality and sentiment tracking.
  • Develop media lists, identifies market influencers across all media platforms to secure publicity with a controlled narrative.
  • Communicate and coordinate with vendors to gather print (etc.) quotes, materials, samples, and proofs as needed; assist senior staff on such duties as requested as necessary to support publicity campaigns, including crisis communications projects.
  • Assist senior staff with day-to-day project management and communicate directly with clients on project and publicity updates as needed.
  • Proactively communicate status, issues and opportunities to the senior marketing and public relations team.
  • Coordinate editorial calendars, corporate content schedules, communications plan schedules and client meetings.
  • Contribute to weekly public relations staff meetings, bringing new ideas to the table to advance client success.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing required.
  • Two years of relevant work experience; agency experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong writing and communication skills across platforms
  • Experience developing content for social media campaigns with goals of reaching, engaging, or building key audiences.
  • Able to gather data and create reports using Meltwater, Cision, Critical Mention, Sprout Social, or similar platforms.
  • Proficient in MS Office and demonstrated ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess the ability to create strong partnerships throughout the organization; promote a team culture of exceptional internal customer service and problem solving.
  • A willingness to learn new technology and support cross-functional team members on various projects.
