Getting Our Chocolate On

Jan 20, 2012 | Agency Updates

Earlier this week, G-peeps had the fantastic opportunity to go on an exclusive factory tour of Wolfgang Candy. Once named one of the “5 Tastiest Tours” by Food Network, the Chocolate Factory Tour took us behind-the-scenes of one of the oldest family-owned and managed candy companies in the United States. We were super impressed to learn that much of the candy is still made by hand and were excited to discover the secret behind making the perfect chocolate Easter bunny. And can we talk about the wonderful chocolate smells?

We also visited Das SweetenHaus, Wolfgang’s on-site candy store, where they have an old-school soda fountain. We bought bags of factory seconds (vanilla butter creams are Meg’s fav), and someone–who shall remain unnamed–may or may not have eaten her entire bag of candy already.

Here’s a virtual tour of the Wolfgang Candy factory from Fox 43, but we definitely suggest going to check them out in person. The free tours are conducted Monday-Thursday at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. You can make a reservation on their website.
