Positive Impact Health Centers (PIHC), an organization that is making substantial strides in providing comprehensive care for individuals affected by HIV/AIDS across its 20 County Service Area in Georgia, has appointed GAVIN Senior Project Manager Avery McDougle to its esteemed Board of Directors.
McDougle, who has worked for several years in healthcare marketing with a primary focus on infectious diseases and community health initiatives, will serve on the Board from January 1, 2024, to December 31, 2027. In this role, he will work alongside other board members to develop innovative programs, raise awareness, advocate for improved healthcare, and strive to eradicate the stigma associated with HIV and AIDS.
“I am honored and excited to join the Positive Impact Health Centers Board of Directors,” said Avery McDougle, Senior Project Manager at GAVIN. “This opportunity aligns seamlessly with my dedication to healthcare advocacy, and I am eager to leverage my expertise in healthcare marketing to amplify PIHC’s mission to foster a healthier and more empowered community for those affected by HIV.”
Positive Impact Health Centers, a nonprofit organization, has been at the forefront of combatting HIV/AIDS through its comprehensive care approach. In 2022, PIHC grew its clinical caseload by over 2,200 patients, introduced injectable HIV treatment and prevention medications for eligible patients and continued to serve as a teaching institution by training future leaders through internship programs.
“Avery’s presence will undoubtedly enrich our discussions and influence our decisions to steer our organization toward greater success,” said Kai Williams Slaton, PIHC Board of Directors. “As Positive Impact Health Centers increases its impact in the community, we are grateful for the support of people like Avery, who are strategic thinkers and problem solvers with an unwavering desire to help others.”
The organization has spearheaded vaccination clinics for high-risk populations, combated the opioid crisis with tailored recovery programs, and actively worked towards creating a more equitable and inclusive future in the face of systemic racism.
“We are immensely proud of Avery’s commitment to amplifying the messages of community health initiatives through his marketing expertise,” said Serena L. Spiezio, Executive Vice President at GAVIN. “We know he will bring great value to Positive Impact Health Centers’ board, and serving in this role will further enhance his understanding of GAVIN’s healthcare clients’ needs.”
