We are proud to share that GAVIN has received a Keystone Award from PRSA Central PA for our work with Children’s Home of York (CHOY).

This recognition reflects the heart of what we do as an agency: helping mission-driven organizations translate complex, deeply personal work into strategic communications that build trust, mobilize communities and drive measurable impact.

Children’s Home of York has served vulnerable children and families for more than 160 years. As CHOY continues to grow and expand services, our partnership focused on elevating its voice statewide — increasing understanding of the child welfare system, highlighting trauma-informed care and strengthening community confidence in its leadership.

“At Children’s Home of York, our 160 years of work is deeply personal and rooted in community trust. GAVIN has helped us translate that work into powerful storytelling that connects York to the children and families we serve. Their ability to capture both heart and strategy has elevated our visibility at a critical time in our growth. We are proud to celebrate this recognition with them.”

Through earned media, thought leadership placement, advocacy storytelling and campaign messaging, we helped position CHOY’s key leaders as credible, compassionate voices in conversations about child welfare across Pennsylvania. As a result, their stories reached new audiences statewide, positive sentiment increased significantly and donor participation strengthened during a campaign supporting critical services for local youth.

“We are incredibly proud to support an organization that is so integral to the well-being of our community,” said Serena Spiezio, Executive Vice President of GAVIN. “CHOY has welcomed our team not just as a vendor, but as true partners, allowing us to deeply understand the heart of their mission. This level of trust empowers us to bring their inspiring stories to life with authenticity and impact.”

Amanda Peterson Martin, Vice President of Integrated Communications and Client Success, added, “Recognition like this reinforces our belief that communications, when rooted in purpose and partnership, can strengthen trust at scale. For mission-driven organizations navigating growth, change or funding pressure, clear and strategic storytelling is not optional — it is essential.”

At GAVIN, we specialize in supporting nonprofits, health care organizations and purpose-led institutions that carry complex missions and high community expectations. We understand that for these organizations, communications is more than visibility. It signals credibility, stability and momentum.

If your organization is navigating growth, community change or heightened public scrutiny, let’s talk about how strategic communications can help you lead with clarity and confidence.
